Flight on April 4th
"I tried to take somebody of one of the major ethnic groups who live in our city to show Bristol’s multi-national diversity. We had a beautiful morning and cruised in gentle ballooning speed of 5kt over the city and landed in some school grounds right on a white marked track which looked like a runway. Apei really enjoyed her flight after the first few minutes when she was slightly uncertain about what will happen…."
Flight on April 10th
"We took off in some quite gusty conditions (even though the weather forecast was for the wind to drop as the evening would go on, it rather increased!) and then flew right over an “open” prison. The guys in there loved it seeing three girls flying right over them! Unfortunately our direction wasn’t very good as we were now heading straight for Filton Airport and many SAs (sensitive areas where you are not allowed to land), so I landed the balloon at some racing 13kt in the last field before it would be really difficult. We did a nice long 30meter drag but all fine and the two girls loved it! Bridget and her husband Andy now want to buy a balloon and start training!"
Flights on April 17th & 18th
"On the 17th, the flight was just very slow and beautiful playing around the little pond and flying low over trees and the meadows, the second flight was quite challenging with a good speed and then getting into a quite difficult area with lots of crop, horses and sheep and no landing zones… but finally found a nice big field with a delightful farmer!"
Flight on April 22nd
"We flew right into a huge quarry and saw 2 running foxes. On landing had to carry out over a fence as the gates were shut and we couldn’t find the farmer. Once we had packed it all up and lifted and heaved everything around, a smiling and very friendly farmer appeared and opened the gates: too late but good to know for next time if we ever land there again!"

Comments:
"VFR flight planned N47 – LHV for Piper Museum with possible stops or early termination at RDG and SEG. We received vectors from RDG approach for traffic avoidance (even though VFR). Neither Celeste nor Natalie said anything specific but I got the feeling they had enough as we got close to SEG so I asked their preference which was to land at SEG (rather than continue to LHV). Because of the interesting topography around SEG I explained exactly what I was doing to alleviate any concerns. We were able to get a crew car and grab a meal a few minutes away.
The flight back was a nice straight shot. I was able to show them a local shopping outlet (at their request). We had a micro-airshow as a Lear performed a missed-approach back at N47." David H.
