Records are meant to be broken; our effort will be a challenge to women pilots for years to come.

Here we are, just a few days left before the beginning of the week of the 100th Anniversary of Licensed Women Pilots. As we get closer, the enthusiasm of the women pilots who have already signed up is growing.

Please allow me to congratulate each and everyone of you for choosing to make a difference and start the new century of women pilots by making a strong statement. Records are meant to be broken. Our effort will be a challenge to women pilots for years to come. Let's make the introduction flights as numerous as we can, the geographic locations as widespread as we can, the aircraft flown as varied as possible.

Eileen Collins, first female Space Shuttle Commander, said: "My daughter just thinks that all moms fly the space shuttle." Let's help make women in the cockpit a common fact of life within the next 100 years. Encourage every woman pilot that you know to take a non-pilot woman or girl for a flight during the week of March 6 to March 12.
